Food Security
As agreed by the NAC at its meeting on July 14th, 2010, a Working Group of Members of the NAC was constituted on the National Food Security Bill. After due deliberations and wide ranging consultations, the NAC finalized the details of the basic framework of the proposed National Food Security Bill at its meeting held on 23 October, 2010. Based on the recommendations already communicated to the Government, NAC placed in the public domain a Framework Note, an Explanatory Note and a Draft National Food Security Bill. Based on the feedback, the NAC in its meeting held on 22 June, 2011, finalized the National Food Security Bill, 2011.
